2015 is an exciting year for gadget fans together with the release of the new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter. All over the world, people are taking to Twitter YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to post photographs as well as videos of themselves zipping around on this 2 wheel contraption which basically resembles a board with a wheel on either side. A combination between a skateboard and a segway, this miniature Segway (without the handle) kind thing is blowing up in popularity, fuelled in part by the quantity of celebrities which have been seen on one. From Justin Bieber Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, to Soulja Boy, all have tried their hand and appear to have had a lot of fun doing so.

Nicknamed the'swegway' (because of it is likeness to the Segway, but a 'cooler' version) we're unsure entirely where this special electrical scooter originated from or who devised the first. It originated from some factory in China. The first peeks we saw of it were a product called a scooter that sells for a whopping $1800, the IO Hawk. Since many cheaper versions of the exact same merchandise have come on the marketplace as well as the typical price in the moment seems to be around $500.

How can it work? Basically you stand on both panels and shift your body weight slightly forward or somewhat back and it senses this bodyweight change and proceeds backwards or forwards. It may also turn left or right. This scooter is proving to be so popular it is actually being touted as the private mobility device of the future. Who would like to walk when you are able to glide? Plus it is a whole lot faster than walking, going at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.

Where is it possible to buy one? All these are available on quite a few different sites but under different brands and at significantly different costs. For example the IO Hawk mentioned previously is $1800 while the Phunkeeduck is about $1500 and much cheaper is the Monorover R2 which comes in at merely $400-$600 (depending on where you buy it). What is the difference between all these? None whatsoever. In fact they're all nearly exactly the same except for a few little, hardly noticeable differences. It simply depends on your budget and whether or not brand name is very important for you.
